North Melbourne and Latrobe Health Services Launch Community-First Partnership

North Melbourne has welcomed Latrobe Health Services to the club in a multi-year partnership designed to bridge the gap between elite sport and grassroots community wellbeing.

The collaboration will see the member-owned, not-for-profit health insurer become the Official Health Insurance Partner of the club and a primary supporter of North Melbourne’s award-winning community arm, The Huddle.

The partnership carries significant weight across the Kangaroos’ football operations, with Latrobe Health Services now serving as the Official Coaches Partner.

Their branding will be prominently displayed across the coaching apparel of both the AFL and AFLW teams, led by senior coaches Alastair Clarkson and Steph Chiocci.

Highlighting the synergy between the two organisations, North Melbourne CEO, Jen Watt, said: “The first moment we met with Latrobe Health Services, we got a sense of our shared values.”

“This aligns perfectly with The Huddle’s commitment to build resilient, healthy, and inclusive communities,” Watt said.

Latrobe Health Services will also play a pivotal role in the club’s marquee SuperClash on Good Friday (April 3, 2026) at Marvel Stadium.

Latrobe Health Services will also support the fundraising efforts for the Good Friday Appeal, helping the club maximise its contribution to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Latrobe Health Services CEO, Ian Whitehead, expressed excitement about backing programs that create a genuine sense of belonging.

“Through this partnership, we’ll deliver practical initiatives, support and connection to Roos fans, families and communities, both on and off the field,” Whitehead remarked.

Strengthening “The Huddle” and Community Inclusivity

A central focus of the alliance is the expansion of ‘Huddle Up in Community Hubs,’ a program specifically designed to engage women from migrant, First Nations, and culturally diverse backgrounds.

By providing access to social sport and recreation, the initiative aims to build connection and confidence in communities across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and soon, South Australia.
