The Invictus Games Foundation has announced that 9Network will serve as the official Australian broadcaster for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, a move that strengthens the commercial value and sponsorship potential of the event in Australia.

With the Games set to take place from February 8 to February 16 in Canada, featuring over 500 competitors from 23 nations, the partnership ensures broad audience engagement. The 9Network will provide multi-platform coverage, including daily highlight packages and the Opening and Closing ceremonies on 9Gem, as well as additional streaming via 9Now. In a further expansion of reach, Optus will deliver the broadcast to Australian Defence Force (ADF) bases via ADF TV.

This strategic collaboration enhances the Games’ commercial appeal by increasing sponsorship visibility, driving corporate engagement, and opening new revenue streams through advertising and brand activations. With adaptive sports gaining momentum globally, the extensive media exposure provided by 9Network and Optus is expected to attract investment from brands seeking purpose-driven partnerships.

Sam Newell, Director of Communications at the Invictus Games Foundation, highlighted the partnership’s role in amplifying the Games’ impact and drawing in commercial stakeholders. Simon Fordham, Head of Partnerships and Strategy at Nine Wide World of Sports, also noted that the agreement aligns with Nine’s broader strategy of diversifying its sports content while appealing to a growing segment of socially-conscious consumers and brands.

With Invictus Australia and the ADF contributing exclusive content and behind-the-scenes insights, the partnership is aimed at not only delivering an engaging viewer experience but also leverage commercial partners. The introduction of adaptive winter sports, including skiing, snowboarding, and skeleton, further expands the appeal of the Games, offering new avenues for industry partnerships and investment.

As the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 approaches, this high-profile broadcast deal reinforces the increasing business viability of adaptive sports, ensuring sustained commercial growth, corporate involvement, and audience expansion in this evolving sector.
