Nike Names Australian-Founded The Yard Gym as First Global Gym Partner

Nike has announced a landmark global partnership with the Sydney-founded strength and conditioning franchise, The Yard Gym (TYG). The deal designates The Yard Gym as Nike Training’s first-ever official Global Gym Partner.

Following the closure of its own boutique “Nike Studios” concept in Texas and California in March 2026, the sportswear giant has opted to pivot from operating its own physical locations to empowering existing, high-growth fitness communities.

Commenting on the partnership, VP and GM of Nike Training, Chloe Speed, said: “Like Nike, The Yard Gym believes training is more than a workout. It’s about unlocking progress.”

“By combining Nike’s expertise in performance innovation with TYG’s industry-leading approach to community and programming, we’ll help more athletes push the limits of what’s possible and raise the bar of training globally.”

Daniel Bova added that the alignment of core values was the catalyst for the deal. “Nike Training embodies the same grit we see inside every TYG studio. We share the same obsession: building stronger, better humans in and out of the gym.”

Partnership Benefits

The collaboration is structured to integrate Nike’s performance innovation with The Yard Gym’s established operational model across three primary areas:

  • Exclusive Outfitting: Nike Training will serve as the exclusive provider of footwear, apparel, and accessories for all TYG coaches and team members worldwide.
  • Experience Co-creation: Both organisations will collaborate on developing training programmes, community activations, and events designed to increase training consistency and participation.
  • Environmental Integration: Nike branding and technology will be incorporated into the physical infrastructure of existing and future TYG locations, creating a cohesive “Nike Training” presence.

The Yard Gym: A Rapid Global Rise

Founded in 2020 by Daniel and Tiarne Bova in Cronulla, New South Wales, The Yard Gym has rapidly evolved from a single suburban studio into a significant global franchise.

The brand’s model focuses on strength-based workouts, including its signature RIG (strength) and TURF (conditioning) sessions, alongside HYROX training and run clubs.

The brand’s growth has been bolstered by its distinctive aesthetic and a strategic partnership with F45 co-founder Rob Deutsch, who joined as a strategic advisor in 2023.

By late 2025, the brand had sold over 250 franchise licences, with a physical footprint currently spanning Australia, the United States, New Zealand, and Mexico.
