he NBL has announced a partnership with Gatorade for the 2020/21 season, with the global sports drink to supply the Brisbane Bullets, Melbourne United, and Sydney Kings with hydration and electrolyte products.

NBL chief commercial officer, Brad Joyner, said Gatorade’s history with partnerships with basketball competitions around the world is a good sign for the Australian competition.

“Gatorade has been linked to basketball leagues across the world for decades and we are thrilled to welcome them to the NBL family,” Joyner said.

“Having a world class brand like Gatorade partner with the NBL is a great endorsement of the league and its direction.

“In what has been a challenging period for all sports, we are grateful for the trust Gatorade has shown in the NBL and we look forward to this being the start of a long and successful partnership,” he said.

Gatorade head of marketing, Tracy Hardwick, said the global brand is excited to partner with the NBL.

“Gatorade has been weaved into the fabric of basketball globally for decades, so we’re excited to be partnering with the NBL here in Australia to hydrate some of the top players and teams, assisting them in their quest for peak performance” Hardwick said.

Gatorade is set to become the official hydration partner of the three clubs with the partnership, something Brisbane Bullets head of commercial, Michael Buchanan, said is a great reflection of the club’s position in sport.

“We are delighted to welcome Gatorade into the Brisbane Bullets family,” Buchanan said.

“Gatorade is a world class brand, and this partnership is a great endorsement to the club’s prominent position in the Brisbane sporting landscape and is set to provide great benefits for the Bullets players,” he said.
