NBL Agrees to European Broadcast Deal

Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL) have announced a deal that will see DAZN distribute the championship across major European territories.

The deal will also extend into Canada, allowing both European and Canadian fans the opportunity to experience DAZN’s rich multi-dimensional, multi-screen digital experience while watching the NBL.

NBL chief commercial officer, Brad Joyer said: “We are extremely please to have reached an agreement with an operator such as DAZN to distribute our content throughout some of Europe’s major territories and Canada.”

“The NBL is the second best league in the world and attracts players from across the globe.

“We have a strong European and Canadian following and this partnership will enhance our offering for that passionate fanbase.

“Aligning with DAZN displays the unprecedented interest in the NBL both domestically and internationally, and we look forward to continuing to grow our global reach,” he said

DAZN CEO global markets, Veronica Diquattro, added: “We are incredibly excited to be entering this partnership with the NBL.”

“We look forward to broadcasting the games on DAZN and bringing fans and subscribers in Europe top courtside action from one of the best basketball leagues in the world,” she said.

The announcement follows a number of top NBL commercial partnerships for several of Australia’s NBL teams.
