NBC Sports Partners With Sportradar In Broadcast Deal

The NBC Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) have announced a new partnership with sports data organisation Sportradar that could lead to alternative broadcasts.

The new deal will provide NBC RSNs various solutions and offerings to enhance live game coverage, as well as access to Sportradar’s live data interface.

The partnership spawned from a production between the two organisations on a standalone betting broadcast of the Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers fixture played last month.

Sportradar director of sports media and partnerships, Oceania David Edwards, said in an exclusive with Ministry of Sport that the company’s aim is to “push the envelope in terms of improving fan experience, the world for the player and the administrator.”

On the partnership senior vice president of content and live programming for NBC RSNs, Jon Slobotkin, said: “[We] are committed to delivering impactful, entertaining and informative live game experiences, and continuing to experiment and enhance our coverage through technology and innovation.”

“Advanced data is a significant component of those efforts, and Sportradar delivers the services and capabilities we need to best serve fans and meet their evolving preferences for how they consume content covering their favourite teams and players,” Slobotkin said.
