The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced the launch of their reimagined global app, which creates an all-in-one experience for fans of all 30 franchises.
The app will provide new personalisation features, including wall-to-wall content from every game and social-style vertical video, behind-the-scenes access to athletes and teams, new and existing shows, and access to the NBA vault for free.
The league has also launched ‘NBA ID’, a new global membership program, which offers benefits and rewards from the league, teams, and partners.
Commenting on the app’s launch, NBA EVP direct-to-consumer, Chris Benyarko, said: “Launching our new NBA App and digital platform is a major milestone as we continue to build and strengthen our direct-to-consumer offerings.”
“We are thrilled to deliver a reimagined product that will enhance and personalize the way NBA fans engage with the league on a daily basis,” he said.
Additionally, the new app will see the return of NBA League Pass, which brings its lowest prices ever, where the standard package is available for US$14.99 a month or US$99.99 a year and the premium package for US$19.99 a month or US$129.99 a year.
The app will be powered by the league’s new integrated system, which was created in partnership with Microsoft, and boasts a new design to create a ‘for you’ experience, which includes content recommendations based on fan preferences and personalisation.
The launch of the new app comes after the NBA announced their 2023 launchpad initiative priorities.
