Energy drink giant Red Bull has entered into a major multi-year commercial agreement to become the official title sponsor of MotoGP’s Australian Grand Prix as the world championship prepares to transition from Phillip Island to a brand-new city circuit in Adelaide from 2027.
Designated as the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia – Adelaide, the street race is scheduled for 12–14 November 2027, with Red Bull maintaining primary title rights through at least 2028.
Highlighting the potential of the partnership, deputy CEO of MotoGP, Carlos Ezpeleta, noted the importance of the Australian market to the championship’s international growth.
“Australia is one of MotoGP’s most passionate and important markets, and we’re delighted to welcome Red Bull as title sponsor as we begin an exciting new chapter in Adelaide in 2027.”
“The inaugural Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia in Adelaide will be a landmark moment for MotoGP.
The new city circuit provides an incredible opportunity to bring the sport into the heart of the city and create a spectacular experience for fans, teams and riders alike.
“Red Bull has an unrivalled track record in motorsport and shares our ambition to deliver world-class events and unforgettable fan experiences.
“They are the perfect partner as we build the future of the Australian Grand Prix together,” Ezpeleta stated.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas welcomed the commercial backing from Red Bull, and framing the title sponsorship as a big economic boost for the state’s event strategy.
“Red Bull is one of the most recognisable brands in the world, and having them on board as the title sponsor of Adelaide’s first MotoGP Grand Prix is a huge endorsement for this event and a massive coup for South Australia.”
“This is exactly the kind of global partnership we want to attract.
“One that brings enormous international exposure, creates excitement and helps establish Adelaide as a must-visit destination on the MotoGP calendar.
“We’re building something special here, and with Red Bull and MotoGP teaming up, we’re gearing up for an incredible first race in 2027,” Premier Malinauskas said.
The move to South Australia establishes a precedent for the series, marking the first urban street circuit execution on the modern MotoGP calendar. The newly designed 4.13-kilometre, 15-corner circuit reinterprets Adelaide’s Formula One layout to meet contemporary motorcycle racing safety standards, integrating signature landmarks such as Stag Corner, Rundle Road, Brewery Bend, and Dequetteville Terrace. Positioned as the penultimate round of the 2027 championship, the Adelaide fixture is expected to deliver substantial high-yield economic returns for the state via tourism, hospitality spend, and global broadcast reach.
