Mine Super Renews Knights Partnership

The Newcastle Knights preferred Superannuation fund, Mine Super, has reaffirmed its support of the Club by renewing their sponsorship as a kit partner for two more seasons.

Mine Super is a profit for member industry super fund who, over the past 77 years, has helped mining families achieve an exceptional retirement through a tailored product and insurance offering.

Together, both organisations recognise the important contribution mining has to the community.

This partnership has matured to include collaboration at community events, as well as shared support of philanthropic suicide prevention organisation “Mates in Mining”.

“We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and a first-class experience for our members, whilst helping them achieve an exceptional retirement outcome,” Mine Super Chief Engagement Officer, Ms Glenda Abraham said.

“During the 2018 season, we witnessed the record crowds and strong engagement the Knights have with their members and the community.

“Our shared value of giving back to the community and making solid connections with our members laid the foundation for our sponsorship renewal.

“Mine Super have been supporting the community for over 77 years, we know the Knights are a big part of the Hunter region and we are delighted to continue our support.”

Knights CEO, Philip Gardner, echoed Ms Abraham’s sentiment of the importance of being part of the community.

“The platform of sponsoring a rugby league team usually starts with brand awareness and recognition, but there is so much more,” Mr Gardner said.

“It’s about identifying the common goal, developing a dialogue with members, creating a connection and building brand trust and we are well on this journey with Mine Super.”

Coinciding with the partnership announcement, the Knights have launched an auction for Mates in Mining, where the community can bid to win an exclusive 2018 Newcastle Knights replica Hi-Vis jersey, personally signed by Kalyn Ponga.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Mates in Mining to support the important work they do creating awareness and preventing suicide in the mining industry.
