Metricon Extend Naming Rights Deal With GC SUNS

Australia’s largest national home-builder, Metricon Homes, have extended the naming rights of the Gold Coast SUNS home ground for a further four years.

The long-standing partnership has been in place since the SUNS entered the competition in 2011 and will now see Metricon Stadium naming rights remain until the end of 2022.

The new deal will also see Metricon focus on enhancing matchday experiences for GC SUNS Members and fans with the inclusion of a new double story activation site to be known as ‘The Terrace’.

The Terrace will be utilised as an entertainment outlet for Metricon clients and contractors as well as providing a beautiful home for members and fans attending the stadium.

GC SUNS CEO, Mark Evans, made the official announcement ahead of the club’s first home game of the 2019 AFL Toyota Premiership Season at Metricon Stadium.

“In the week leading into our first home game of the season, it’s exciting to be able to announce an extension to an eight-year partnership between the SUNS and Metricon Homes,” Evans said.

“Metricon Homes have supported us since the club’s inception and are committed to not only helping the Gold Coast SUNS grow, but AFL in Queensland.

“Metricon Stadium has become synonymous throughout the Gold Coast as a fantastic community asset, and throughout the country as an industry leading sporting precinct.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Metricon to utilise the precinct to host a wide range of events for the Gold Coast.”

The renewal continues the alignment of Metricon’s sponsorship commitments with the recreational activities its customers passionately support and cements the Gold Coast’s importance to the broader AFL landscape.

“Sport, and AFL, in particular, transcends so many cultures and communities,”  Metricon’s Gold Coast-based director, Jason Biasin said.

“It’s part of Australia’s DNA.

“Metricon is proud to have been side-by-side with the SUNS since 2011, forging a grass-roots partnership that promotes the community and family connections synonymous with both of our brands,” Mr Biasin added.

Metricon will join major support partner, Austworld and the recent addition of Coaches Partner, @realty.
