etallica is set to perform ‘Enter Sandman’ after the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos NRL match on Friday (August 28), which begins at 7:30pm AEST.

The band is performing in celebration of the release of their new live album, ‘S&M2’, which is due to release on Friday as well, and is made with recording from two of their shows in 2019, marking 20 years since their first live album, ‘S&M’.

Despite the financial hardships the NRL is currently enduring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced it to suspend its season temporarily in March, before resuming without fans in attendance at the end of May, this exclusive performance appears to be a sign of a tide turning for the league.

The virtual performance will be broadcast in partnership with Universal Music, in what has become somewhat of a ‘new normal’ during lockdown, with several entertainers taking to online performances to promote new music.
