Melbourne Mavericks get cooking with Cobram Estate principal partnership

Suncorp Super Netball’s newest team, Melbourne Mavericks, has planted its long-term future alongside its new principal partner, Cobram Estate,  Australia’s most awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

The three-year partnership will see the Cobram Estate logo represented on Mavericks apparel on and off the court, including front and centre on the playing uniform, warm-up top, training singlet, and the team polo.

As part of the partnership, Cobram Estate and the Mavericks will collaborate on creating the Mavs Cobram Estate Community Roots initiative. The program will give local clubs the opportunity to secure $150,000 in grant funding, match day ticketing, and fan engagement experiences.

The Mavericks will make their Suncorp Super Netball debut in the 2024 season, taking the place of Collingwood Magpies in the eight-team competition.

In addition to featuring significantly at all home games, the partnership will see the Mavericks and Cobram Estate collaborate on various social media content initiatives and promotions for Mavs fans, giving them all the “good oil” on the team.

Cobram Estate grows and sells high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), which is simply the juice of fresh olives.

“Our EVOO not only tastes great but is also packed with many health benefits. Our olives are grown on our 2.6 million trees in regional Victoria, and we take great pride in ensuring Australian consumers have the opportunity to buy high quality EVOO,” Cobram Estate’s Joint-CEO Sam Beaton said.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Mavericks, and look forward to watching the team continue to grow both the engagement and playing of netball at all levels.”

Mavericks General Manager Shae Bolton-Brown was equally enthusiastic about the newly-struck deal.

“We couldn’t be prouder to have Cobram Estate onboard as our Principal Partner,” Bolton-Brown beamed.

“We are building great momentum as we move closer towards our debut season, and this partnership will allow us to engage with our fans both on and off the court. With Cobram Estate’s support, the creation of the Mavs Cobram Estate Community Roots initiative ensures that netball clubs throughout Victoria can benefit from this exciting collaboration.

“It’s an honour to have one of the world’s best extra virgin olive oils, born out of Victoria, to join the Mavs. Like their tree to table commitment, we too stand committed from court to community, and this partnership lays the foundation for a successful Mavericks era.”

Following this exciting news and the recent signing of Australia’s biggest independent tyre retailer, Tyrepower, as an inaugural partner, the Mavericks will make additional partnership announcements in the coming weeks.
