Mavericks Reveal Ticket Price Increase

The Dallas Mavericks have announced an increase in ticket prices for the upcoming NBA season, a move that has sparked controversy among fans after the team’s blockbuster trade of Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Monday, the Mavericks informed season ticket holders that their renewal packages would see an average increase of 8.61% for next season, with premium seating and club access areas exceeding a 10% increase.

This decision has left many questioning the team’s direction as it’s common for NBA franchises to adjust ticket prices, particularly after a successful season, but raising them after parting ways with a generational talent like Dončić is an unusual move.

Additionally, following the trade, the Mavericks attempted to mitigate backlash by offering refunds to fans who wished to cancel the remainder of their season ticket packages.

The Mavericks have a history of significant price hikes, where last season, some season ticket holders reported increases ranging from 20% to 50%, while with the latest adjustment, Dallas fans are left paying more while adjusting to a roster that no longer features the player who led them to championship contention.

Despite the price adjustments, the Mavericks say full-season ticket holders will continue to save 15% to 23% compared to projected secondary market prices.

Season-ticket costs for the Club Access Level, which includes premium seats and floor-area seating, will rise more than 10%, and some terrace-level seats are going up from $20 to $24 per game.
