Maserati has entered into the 2023 FIA Formula E World Championship, the first Italian team to compete in the championship.
Maserati CEO, Davide Grasso, said: “We are very proud to be back where we belong as protagonists in the world of racing.”
The last time Maserati was involved in motorsport was 2010, when the successful MC12 was retired.
“We have a long history of world-class excellence in competition and we are ready to drive performance in the future.” Grasso said.
Formula E were keen to attract more manufacturers after Audi and BMW withdrew from the race.

Maserati have joined the race to showcase their commitment to sustainability.
“That’s why we decided to go back to racing in the FIA Formula E World Championship, meeting our customers in the city centers of the world, taking the Trident forward into the future.” Grasso said.
