It was a big weekend for golf fans across the world as LIV Golf announced the launch of its new app and global streaming site, LIV Golf Plus and LIVGolfPlus.com.
Fans in over 180 territories will be able to watch live and on-demand coverage of the 2023 LIV Golf League from the comfort of their homes.
The league’s debut event, LIV Golf Mayakoba, was the first official event showcased on the platform.
The app is available for download for free on various platforms, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, and FireTV.
The network’s app has been downloaded over 90 million times and is available on all major platforms, giving fans access to the league’s coverage.
Commenting on the new platform, LIV Golf chief media officer, Will Staeger, said: “The introduction of the LIV Golf Plus streaming app ensures fans around the world will receive direct access to live and on-demand coverage of our league’s groundbreaking launch.”
“In keeping with the content distribution strategy of other major sports leagues, the LIV Golf Plus streaming app allows more access to our content from more places for more people, spanning the traditional golf consumer to the casual sports and entertainment viewer discovering golf for the first time.
“We are thrilled to bring our innovative coverage of the game’s biggest stars including Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson to the sport’s global fanbase and are excited to grow our content offering on LIV Golf Plus in the coming seasons to drive deeper connections between viewers and our athletes in every corner of the world,” he said.
LIV Golf’s innovative production coverage will maintain its format and style from the 2022 Invitational season.
The broadcast features LIV Golf’s acclaimed on-air announce team, including Arlo White, David Feherty, Jerry Foltz, Su-Ann Heng, Dom Boulet, and Troy Mullins.
The coverage includes a shotgun start, live leaderboard, enhanced drone coverage, statistics-driven graphics, and fast-paced coverage featuring nearly twice as many golf shots per hour than traditional golf coverage.
Additionally, US fans will be able to watch all 14 events on The CW Network, which has a multi-year exclusive broadcast agreement with LIV Golf.
LIV Golf Plus will also only be available in countries where the league does not have a broadcasting rights partner.
