LIV Golf, the golf tour supported by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has solidified its global presence with the appointment of Corpay, a leading business payments firm, as its official corporate foreign exchange (FX) provider.
Under the agreement, Corpay’s Cross-Border business division will oversee LIV Golf’s corporate FX transactions, providing tailored solutions to manage currency exposure for international payments.
Corpay’s cutting-edge solutions platform will empower LIV Golf’s expansive global operations and diverse roster of international athletes to efficiently manage finances in their preferred currencies.
“Our team is passionate about partnering with innovative companies like LIV Golf and we are proud to bring our comprehensive cross-border payments and FX risk management solutions to LIV Golf’s innovative, global league,” Brad Loder, Vice President of Cross-Border Marketing at Corpay Cross-Border Solutions, remarked.
Monica Fee, LIV Golf’s Senior Vice President and Global Head of Partnerships, echoed the sentiment, adding, “Our global league is thrilled to partner with Corpay as the official foreign FX provider for LIV Golf.
“Momentum continues to build as our 2024 season gets underway, and our partnership with Corpay will provide an incredible opportunity to best serve our diverse roster of the world’s best professional golfers.”
Corpay’s extensive portfolio includes partnerships with various sports organisations such as the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), SailGP, World Triathlon, AC Milan, the World Table Tennis (WTT) organisation and Rugby Australia.
In a recent development, LIV Golf and sports protection services firm US Integrity announced a formal partnership focusing on gaming integrity monitoring, compliance and education. As part of this collaboration, LIV Golf will leverage ProhiBet, a cutting-edge technology designed to detect prohibited gaming behaviour, developed in collaboration with technology firm Odds On Compliance.
In November, LIV Golf unveiled the calendar for its highly anticipated 2024 regular season, featuring 14 events across eight countries. Notably, the tour is set to make its debut in Las Vegas, marking an exciting milestone in its global expansion.
Since its inception in 2022, the LIV Golf League has successfully attracted some of the world’s top golfers by offering lucrative financial incentives, establishing itself as a trailblazer in the golfing landscape – albeit a controversial one as critics continue to highlight Saudi Arabia’s human rights record.
