Las Vegas Set to Host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024

Las Vegas is already billed to host the NFL’s biggest offseason event, and will also host the league’s biggest event very soon. The decision to host the Super Bowl LVIII at Las Vegas is supported by NFL’s 32 owners as announced by Raiders owner Mark Davis. The decision was taken on Wednesday in a league meeting in Dallas. Following the approvals, it means that the Allegiant Stadium will play host to the Super Bowl following the 2023 season.

In 2019, the Raiders raised the budget of the Allegiant Stadium by over $40 million to improve the facility. The decision to seek an upgrade has paid off eventually as they have landed a Super Bowl big game to Sin City.

The grand opening of Raiders’ $2 billion edifice happened in 2020 with the hope of hosting the 2025 Super Bowl LIX in February but the chance to host Super Bowl LVIII opened up due to a scheduling conflict involving the original host- New Orleans.

Originally, New Orleans was slated to host the game on Feb. 4, 2024, but an additional 17th game added to the NFL schedule the need to change the date of the event.

However, another clash of dates with Mardi Gras forced the hands of the NFL in October 2020.

They voted to let New Orleans host Super Bowl LIX with another city hosting Super Bowl LVIII. That city is Las Vegas. Having less affiliation with the NFL has not hampered Vegas’ chance of hosting the Mundial as it has already become a hub for NFL events. A test run will see the stadium host the Pro Bowl in February and the 2022 NFL Draft in April.

As the host of the Super Bowl LVIII has been confirmed, the next four games go thus:

Super Bowl LVI: Los Angeles- Feb. 13, 2022, NBC

Super Bowl LVII: Phoenix- Feb. 12, 2023, Fox

Super Bowl LVIII: Las Vegas- Feb. 11, 2024, CBS

Super Bowl LIX: New Orleans- Feb. 9, 2025, Fox
