The Los Angeles Lakers have officially secured a uniform partnership with Los Angeles-based personal finance platform Albert, marking the application’s inaugural sponsorship venture with a National Basketball Association franchise.
The premium inventory package, which was strategically sourced and facilitated by the Properties Division of Excel Sports Management, significantly elevates the financial technology firm’s sports marketing footprint.
Under the terms of the new commercial arrangement, the Albert corporate branding patch will be prominently stitched on the upper left chest of all four official Los Angeles Lakers jersey variations. This includes the traditional gold icon edition, the purple statement edition, the white association edition, and the specialized black city edition. Beyond the physical game day uniforms, the brand integration will receive extensive exposure across all regional television broadcasts featured on Spectrum SportsNet.
While the specific financial terms and total duration of the contract were undisclosed by the organisation, the commercial value of the Lakers’ uniform assets remains amongst the highest in global professional sport.
The franchise’s previous inventory cycle with South Korean food conglomerate Bibigo was valued at a reported USD100 million (AUD143 million) over a five-year term, whilst their initial patch sponsorship deal with e-commerce platform Wish similarly spanned a five-year duration.
The alliance allows Albert to tap into the massive global media appeal of the Lakers, highlighted by franchise star Luka Doncic debuting the new branded uniform. The personal finance application currently services a reported 20 million users globally, operating with a strategic mission to streamline comprehensive financial managemen, encompassing budgeting, saving, investing, and bill payments, into a singular digital ecosystem.
Prior to landing their NBA asset, Albert focused its local marketing efforts primarily within women’s basketball, maintaining a patch partnership with the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks since February 2025 alongside separate jersey sponsorships with the Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings.
