KDL Property Group has significantly bolstered its commitment to the Queensland rugby ecosystem, announcing a new partnership with the Bond University Rugby Club in conjunction with the 2026 season launch.
The agreement serves as an extension of KDL’s existing sports investment portfolio, specifically reinforcing the developmental pathways that bridge the gap between amateur university rugby and the professional ranks of the Queensland Reds.
The partnership is designed to complement KDL’s ongoing support of the Reds’ Next Gen program, a high-performance initiative aimed at athletes on the verge of professional selection. By integrating Bond University Rugby into its sponsorship stable, KDL is now supporting the talent pipeline at an earlier, critical development stage, ensuring that emerging players have the resources necessary to transition into elite competition.
KDL Property Group managing director, Kent Leicester, stated that the partnership was a natural extension of the company’s involvement in the sport.
“Bond University Rugby is one of the standout programs in Queensland, not just for its on-field success but for the way it develops players and people.”
“We see a clear alignment between what they are building and what we value at KDL – strong pathways, long-term development and creating opportunities for people to progress.
“With our support of the Reds Next Gen program already in place, this partnership helps strengthen that pathway from the junior and university level right through to elite rugby,” Leicester said.
Leicester further noted that KDL takes pride in backing organisations that deliver excellence while contributing to the broader community.
“Whether it’s in housing or sport, we’re always interested in backing programs that are building something meaningful and sustainable over time.”
“Bond University Rugby is a great example of that,” he said.
The formalisation of this deal coincided with the club’s 2026 season launch on 26 March, where both the men’s and women’s programs were highlighted for their continued growth in depth and performance.
