In a significant move for both Jürgen Klopp and Red Bull, the renowned German manager will take on the role of Global Head of Soccer starting January 1, 2025. This strategic appointment marks a new chapter for Klopp after an illustrious nine-year tenure at Liverpool, where he achieved remarkable success, including the Champions League and Premier League titles.

Klopp’s extensive experience in football management will be crucial as he transitions into this role. He’ll oversee key Red Bull clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and two clubs in Brazil. Although he won’t manage day-to-day operations, his focus will be on supporting sports directors, promoting Red Bull’s philosophy, scouting top talent, and enhancing the training and development of coaches throughout the global network.

In his own words, Klopp expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, stating, “After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this.” His commitment to leveraging Red Bull’s elite knowledge and experience is evident, aiming to foster talent development and innovative approaches within the organisation.

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO Corporate Projects and Investments at Red Bull, highlighted the significance of this signing, declaring it the strongest in the company’s soccer history. Mintzlaff stated that Klopp’s extraordinary skills and charisma position him to be a game changer for Red Bull’s involvement in international soccer.

As Klopp prepares to assume his role, expectations will be high. His ability to instil a winning mentality and nurture talent will be pivotal in enhancing the performance of Red Bull’s clubs on the global stage. A press conference will formally announce Klopp’s appointment in mid-January 2025, further setting the stage for his impactful contribution to the sport.

This strategic shift not only reflects Klopp’s aspirations but also signifies Red Bull’s commitment to innovation and excellence in soccer, positioning the company as a formidable player in the global football landscape.
