High Performance Sport New Zealand Announce Partnership with Lumin Sports

High Performance Sport New Zealand has entered into an agreement with Australian sports technology company Lumin Sports, selecting the advanced Lumin Strength platform following a global review of elite strength and conditioning providers.

The partnership will see Lumin Strength deployed across HPSNZ’s high-performance network, equipping coaches and high-performance practitioners with an integrated platform to design, deliver, and monitor individualised strength and conditioning programs for elite and emerging athletes supported by the Tailored Athlete Pathway Support initiatives.

The digital transformation replaces fragmented spreadsheets, documents, and legacy systems with a centralised solution aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, data quality, and longitudinal consistency across multiple sporting codes.

HPSNZ’s business wwner for the Athlete Management System Build Project, Paul McAlpine, emphasised the technological edge provided by the platform.

“On top of being a cutting-edge product, it is rapidly evolving and backed by a very attentive team behind the scenes.”

Elaborating on the decision, HPSNZ’s head of SNC, Adam Allen, said: “We chose Lumin Strength for its ease of use, responsive support team, and ability to bring programme delivery and athlete data into one platform.”

“Lumin is replacing fragmented spreadsheets, documents and legacy systems while improving efficiency, data quality and consistency,” Allen said.

Highlighting that the agreement reflects an industry-wide transition toward purpose-built performance technology, Lumin Sports CEO, Ben Tripodi, added: “Across high performance sport, we’re seeing organisations move towards purpose-built S&C platforms that can scale with their programmes and seamlessly fit within their existing technology stack.”

“HPSNZ has made a strategic investment to ensure athletes get the most out of the world-class strength and conditioning support services they offer and we’re proud to support an organisation that values athlete outcomes and excellence,” Tripodi said.

With software already utilised across major global competitions including the AFL, NBA, NBL, and Formula 1, Lumin Sports further cements its standing within elite athletic administration.

HPSNZ now joins a growing cohort of national sporting organisations in the region adopting the platform, including New Zealand Football, Canoe Slalom New Zealand, and the Adams Centre for High Performance, as the agency scales its technological infrastructure ahead of upcoming international pinnacle events.
