Hawthorn Football Club has unveiled its 2025 AFLW Pride Guernsey, a powerful symbol of inclusivity, belonging, and community. The guernsey will be worn in Round 9 when the Hawks face Gold Coast at Kinetic Stadium, giving fans a chance to see the design showcased on-field.
This year’s Pride Guernsey builds on the foundations of the club’s 2023 and 2024 editions, evolving into an even bolder celebration of pride and equality. At the heart of the design is the rainbow hawk, emblazoned across the front of the jumper, representing courage, unity, and the shared strength of the Hawthorn community.
More Than a Striking Visual
The rainbow hawk is intended to embody diversity across the club’s players, supporters, and wider community. It serves as a reminder that football is a place where everyone—regardless of background, identity, or orientation—deserves to feel seen, respected, and celebrated.
The guernsey is also a tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community, reflecting Hawthorn’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive sporting environment. The club has positioned its Pride Guernsey as a beacon of solidarity and a reaffirmation of its values: equality, respect, and unity.
In addition to the on-field statement, Hawthorn plans to use the Pride Round as an opportunity to engage with fans and the community around broader inclusion initiatives. By spotlighting its Pride Guernsey, the club aims to encourage conversations, celebrate diversity, and strengthen the culture of belonging within both AFLW and the wider AFL community.
Club leaders emphasised that the guernsey is more than just a piece of apparel—it is a symbol of progress and pride. For players and supporters alike, it reflects the belief that the club is strongest when it unites under one vision: that football should be for everyone.
Hawthorn’s 2025 Pride Guernsey will take centre stage during Round 9, reinforcing the club’s message that it is proud to champion inclusivity and equality both on and off the field.
