Glory Achieve Commercial Outcome For Hyundai Whilst Scoring A New One–Year Partnership With Move2gether

Despite losing 2-0 in Saturday’s friendly against Manchester United at Optus Stadium, Perth Glory has provided increased exposure for its 90-minute partnership with Hyundai, whilst also securing a new one–year partnership with Move2gether.

The logo of the global automotive giant featured on the front of Glory’s shirt for the prestige clash with the English Premier League side, as tens of millions of fans tuned in from around the world and a bumper crowd of 50,206 attended the game.

Hyundai has sponsored the A-League since its inception in 2005 and Hyundai Motor Company Australia CEO, JW Lee, said the clash was another opportunity to showcase their support for the code.

“We are a huge fan of football and it felt right that we get behind Glory as they represent the Hyundai A-League against one of the biggest football clubs in the world,” he said.

“These types of games show how far the game has come in Australia.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to show what our Aussie league is made of and with so many fans tuning in to watch from all over the world, we’re really excited to be involved and show our support.”

Glory has also managed to sign a one–year partnership with Move2gether, a ground-breaking, App-based initiative promoting a healthier lifestyle for Australians of all ages.

Move2gether connects everyone involved in grassroots football, from players and coaches, to parents and grandparents and helps them motivate each other to live healthier lives.

Starting in October, the program will reach each of the 230 football clubs in Western Australia, with 10,000 families expected to participate across three Move2gether challenges.

The Move2gether logo will feature on the back of Glory’s new home playing shirt for the upcoming Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season and its co-founder, Mr Louis Island, is thrilled to have partnered with the club at such an exciting time in its history.

“We are excited to be working with Perth Glory to help thousands of people, young and old, increase their levels of physical activity,” he said.

“Move2gether is a six-week physical activity challenge where players score goals for their local club by logging daily physical activity.

“The Perth Glory fan-base and Football West community is a perfect way to engage large numbers of participants in achieving a positive goal.

“Move2gether will have a significant impact on the health of Western Australians.”

Perth Glory CEO, Tony Pignata, meanwhile, said: “As a club that has long been committed to promoting healthy living, Perth Glory has fantastically close synergies with Move2gether,” he said.

“It is a unique and exciting initiative that will be hugely beneficial to many thousands of Western Australians of all ages and one that we are very proud to be partnered with.”

The Move2gether program is funded by SportAUS to improve the physical activity levels of older Australians.
