Global Esports Federation Name Host Cities For Global Esports Tour

he Global Esports Federation has announced the cities that will host the events during the inaugural season of the Global esports tour, and it all Kicks off in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles will host the Hearthstone event, which will kick off on September 27, followed by the PUBG Mobile competition in Riyadh on October 21 and the CS:GO event in Dubai on November 26.

Additionally, competitive online gaming platform and tournament event organiser FACEIT will join as a strategic partner of the games by creating new properties and esports events to aid the organisation in delivering competitions.

Global Esports Federation vice-president and co-chair of the Technical, Standards & Properties Commission, Chester King, said: “The Global Esports Federation is proud to work with a team of experts at FACEIT further to develop our strategies for esports across the world.

“We look forward to staging the Global Esports Tour in great cities around the world.”

Each tournament stage will showcase a unique esports title across the cities throughout the year.

FACEIT co-founder and chief business officer, Michele Attisani, added: “FACEIT’s ambition is to build a better competitive gaming ecosystem with more opportunities for players and the community.

“We look forward to staging the Global Esports Tour in great cities around the world.”

The Global Esports Tour will lead to the Global Esports Games held in Singapore from December 17.

The Global Esports Federation and Singapore Esports Association established last month the Global Esports Games Organising Committee would work closely with the IMG agency to ensure Singapore has geared up to host the Decembers inaugural event.

The organisation committee consisting of SGEA, gaming lifestyle brand Razer, and health tech company Thomson X has entered a consultancy agreement with IMG, which will produce 30 hours of live content, event management, marketing, media distribution and sponsorship rights for the tournament.

The Global Esports Federation has confirmed a total prize pool of $500,000 (Approx AUD$681,442) for the Global Esports Tour, further announcing they will match the prize pool with a further $500,000 (Approx AUD$681,442)  commitment to the Global Social Impact Initiatives, which is a network of partnerships, developments and value-based initiatives to the worlds esports community.
