Genius Sports Acquires FanHub

ports data and technology organisation, Genius Sports, has announced the acquisition of free-to-play games and fan engagement solution company, FanHub Media Holdings.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it was revealed Genius Sports will also acquire FanHub’s full suite of F2P games, including fantasy sports, trivia, bracket challenges, pick ‘em, and polling games.

As part of the deal, Genius Sports will integrate FanHub’s solutions across its media service to support its customer activity, fan engagement, sponsor activation and cost per acquisition through the delivery of tailored marketing campaigns.

Genius Sports CEO, Mark Locke, said the acquisition will complement Genius Sports’ offerings to sports leagues and federations, sportsbooks, media companies and broadcasters.

“The acquisition of FanHub will provide our sports, betting and media partners with exciting new content platforms that entirely complement our established data, video and marketing solutions,” Locke said.

“This transaction is expected to expand Genius Sports’ global audience and reach while accelerating the convergence of sports, betting, and media to engage the modern fan,” he said.

FanHub chairman, Tim Lamb, said: “We are delighted to join the Genius Sports family and excited about the potential opportunities for our clients and staff.”

FanHub CEO and founder, Andrew Cronyn, said: “We couldn’t imagine a more complementary partner and together we will offer an even richer fan experience, generate more engagement and offer value to our partners, and fans.”

The Australian company, FanHub, already holds partnerships with some of the largest organisations within Genius Sports’ offering, including the NFL, MLB, and MLS.
