Ford Dealer Network has renewed its partnership with Basketball Australia, reinforcing its role as a major backer of the sport across grassroots and elite levels.
The multi-year extension, announced on the Gold Coast alongside national team players and Basketball Australia executives, marks a continued alignment between the two organisations around community engagement and talent development.
Commenting on the partnership, Basketball Australia CEO, Matt Scriven, said: “Ford’s renewed commitment gives us certainty and reach across our athlete development system, from first-time participants through to Olympic and Paralympic athletes.”
“This partnership has become integral to how we grow the game sustainably, both in participation and performance terms,” Scriven said.
Expressing that the partnership offers both brand visibility and deeper local engagement, Ford Dealer Network Spokesperson, Cameron McLeish, said: “Sport creates touchpoints with communities that few other platforms can.”
“This partnership lets us connect directly with fans and families, while also supporting Australia’s top-tier athletes and programs,” McLeish said.
Ford Dealer Network has invested more than AUD15.4 million across community sports initiatives over the last two years, and its relationship with Basketball Australia is positioned as a flagship activation within that broader community investment strategy.
The agreement builds on Ford’s initial 2023 commitment as a major partner of the Boomers and the Opals, expanding in both scope and scale over the past two years.
The partnership highlights the Ford Aussie Hoops junior development program, under-age national championships, and the national wheelchair teams, reflecting a broader shift toward inclusive and whole-of-pathway support.
In addition, the extended partnership provides Basketball Australia with stable, long-term support at a time of increased competition for domestic sponsorships and pathways funding.
For Ford, the relationship delivers national exposure tied to Australia’s growing basketball footprint, including Olympic and Paralympic campaigns and increasing youth participation.
The value of the renewal also lies in the year-round activation opportunities it offers, from local club engagement via Aussie Hoops to national visibility during major tournaments, this enables Ford to position itself within the sport’s full ecosystem.
With the extension now in place, Ford and Basketball Australia are expected to continue co-developing initiatives that support both athlete pipelines and community impact, as Australian basketball eyes further international competitiveness and domestic growth.
