Football NSW has officially announced the appointment of experienced governance leader and corporate executive Kristina Travers as an elected member of the Football NSW Board.

Bringing more than 20 years of executive leadership expertise spanning professional services, fast-moving consumer goods, and government sectors, Travers joins the governing body to advance its strategic direction, operational excellence, and organisational sustainability across New South Wales.

Travers currently serves as Managing Director of People Solutions and Transformation at PwC Australia, where she spearheads large-scale organisational transformation and risk management initiatives both domestically and internationally.

A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Travers brings extensive board-level governance experience gained through leadership roles across the sport and not-for-profit sectors, including her ongoing tenure on the Softball NSW Board and her recent service as Vice Chair of the Lokahi Foundation. Her appointment reinforces Football NSW’s commercial and structural focus on sound financial and administrative governance as participation rates and community programs expand statewide.

Welcoming Travers to the board, Football NSW chairman, Gilbert Lorquet, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kristina to the FNSW Board. Kristina brings extensive governance and executive leadership experience, combined with a deep commitment to grassroots football.”

“Her expertise in people, culture and organisational transformation will be a valuable asset as we continue to grow and strengthen the game across New South Wales,” Lorquet said.

With a proven track record in building sustainable organisations and fostering inclusive community participation, Travers is positioned to guide the state governing body through its next phase of commercial development and grassroots expansion.

Speaking on her appointment, Travers said she was honoured to join the Football NSW Board and look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of football across New South Wales.

“I am passionate about the role sport plays in bringing communities together and creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to participate and thrive.”

“Football NSW has a significant role in supporting the growth of the game across the state, and I look forward to working alongside the Board and wider football community to help strengthen the organisation into the future,” Travers said.

The addition of Travers underscores Football NSW’s ongoing commitment to robust governance standards, ensuring the organisation remains resilient, commercially viable, and well-equipped to support the surging demand for football infrastructure and talent pathways across the state.
