Football Australia and the A-Leagues have announced a new partnership with Personar, an award-winning AI-driven sports technology company, naming it the official Referee and VAR partner across all A-Leagues competitions.

The agreement will see Personar’s TrackSwift platform integrated throughout the leagues, providing advanced officiating tools, real-time communication capabilities, and enhanced transparency for fans and match officials alike.

The integration of Personar’s AI technology, originally developed for Formula One racing, will provide match officials with enhanced VAR support, post-match analysis tools, and real-time communication of referee decisions to fans in stadiums and at home.

The initiative aims to improve fan understanding of key decisions and strengthen trust in officiating outcomes.

Football Australia’s head of referees, Jon Moss, said the partnership represents a major step forward in the sport’s ongoing digital transformation.

“The partnerhip with Personar represents a significant investment in Australian football and demonstrates their commitment to elevating the sport through innovative technology.”

“Personar shares our commitment to transparency, innovation, and putting fans first.

“Their TrackSwift platform will help us deliver a better experience for supporters while giving officials the tools to make more informed decisions,” Moss said.

Personar CEO and Co-Founder Adrian Jones said the partnership is about building a more transparent and engaging football experience across all levels of the game.

“Australian football fans are among the most passionate in the world, and they deserve transparency and engagement when it comes to officiating decisions.”

“This partnership goes beyond technology deployment — it’s about investing in Australian football, from professional competitions to grassroots programs,” Jones said.

Under the sponsorship, Personar will also support Football Australia’s referee development programs, providing educational and technological resources to build the next generation of elite officials.

Branding integration will appear across A-Leagues referee kits and the central VAR hub, further strengthening the collaboration between the two organisations.
