FIBA has significantly boosted its commercial partner ecosystem ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 by signing an agreement with rapidly expanding automotive brand Jetour as its official car supplier.
Commencing immediately, the partnership will provide vital logistical and mobility solutions, underpinning operations for FIBA’s major international competitions leading up to the flagship tournament. The pinnacle event is scheduled to tip off in Doha, Qatar, on August 27 next year, with Jetour supplying a dedicated fleet of vehicles to support the comprehensive delivery requirements throughout the final phase.
For Jetour, a global automotive organisation operating under China’s Chery Holding Group, the alignment represents a commercial investment in the Middle East and international markets.
The brand has built a strong regional market share in Qatar, positioning its diverse lineup of sport utility vehicles to support everyday urban mobility and off-road exploration.
Commenting on the collaboration in lieu of the upcoming tournament in Qatar, FIBA secretary general, Andreas Zagklis, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jetour as a new FIBA Global Supplier.”
“As preparations continue for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Qatar, their support will help ensure the successful delivery of our flagship competition and reinforce the important role mobility plays in hosting world-class events,” Zagklis said.
Echoing these sentiments, president of Jetour, Ke Chuandeng, added: “Basketball is about speed, precision, and teamwork, values that resonate deeply with Jetour as a brand.”
“Partnering with FIBA allows us to align with a sport that embodies energy and forward momentum.
“We are proud to support the global basketball community and to be part of its continued evolution,” Chuandeng said.
