F1 TV Gets Revamp For 2021 Season

Formula One (F1) has announced that they will be updating their F1 TV platform ahead of the new 2021 season.

86 territories will now be able to access the new F1 TV pro service, with Brazil, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic included in the latest expansion.

The platform features all races from the calendar live, with access to onboard driver camera angles.

Users can now also play, pause, and rewind across all channels, alongside the ability to stream content at 1080p at 50fps.

The updated platform has been developed with Accenture’s Industry X division, with the intention to improve performance, video quality and user experience.

For the first time, fans will also be able to use Chromecast or Airplay to cast content on their TV.

Formula One director of media rights, Ian Holmes, said that fans will get more out of the new platform.

“We are delighted to be relaunching F1 TV ahead of the new season, with several upgraded features that will improve fans’ experience of the product and make our extensive collection of archive footage easier to watch than ever before,” Holmes said.

The new version of F1 TV is already available on desktop, with upgrades on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire tablet devices and Roku to come later in the season.

Compatibility with Apple TV, Android TV devices and Amazon Fire TV is expected to be available mid-way through the season.

The 2021 Formula One season begins on 26th March at Bahrain International Circuit.
