Essendon Football Club and NEC Australia have announced a three-year extension of their partnership, solidifying NEC’s role as the Bombers’ ICT Solutions Partner and naming rights sponsor of the high-performance NEC Hangar. The agreement will now extend into its seventh season, running through the 2027 AFL and AFLW seasons.
The partnership underscores a shared commitment to innovation and performance, leveraging NEC’s technological expertise to enhance team success and fan engagement. In addition to providing advanced data and analytics solutions to improve on-field performance, NEC is also supporting leadership and career development opportunities for Essendon players and staff within the tech industry.
NEC Australia CEO Jason Price highlighted the alignment of values and the mutual benefits of the partnership, citing the Bombers’ focus on high performance and cultural respect as key to the ongoing collaboration. “Our partnership will continue to explore opportunities to generate a competitive advantage across both the men’s and women’s football programs, by tapping into our innovative technology and high-performance data and analytics.”
The NEC Hangar has become a hub for high-performance sports, housing Essendon’s AFL and AFLW teams, among others, and features cutting-edge training facilities, community engagement spaces, and a health and wellbeing hub. This collaboration reflects a broader commitment to advancing the women’s game, with tailored career pathways for AFLW players and ongoing community initiatives to inspire future generations of athletes.
