Discovery’s OTT Sports Service Links With Amazons Streaming Platforms In New Collaboration
Amazon and Discovery are collaborating to bring Eurosport Player, the sports brand and OTT service, to Amazon Fire TV, Fire tablets and Echo Show devices.
Amazon’s Fire TV service will become one of Eurosport Player’s preferred streaming media players in Europe, with selected customers receiving free annual subscription passes when they buy Fire TV devices.
In addition, to the voice control Alexa brings to Fire TV and Echo Show, Amazon and Eurosport will work together to create unique Alexa utterances for sports fans, making Eurosport Player content even more accessible and entertaining for fans via Fire TV.

“Together, we’re committed to our shared goal of upgrading the Eurosport Player app for Fire TV and supporting 4K UHD streaming, giving fans unforgettable sports content experiences.
Eurosport Player customers with Fire TV devices will also be able to enjoy the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 in 4K in all countries where Eurosport has the rights to the Games and where 4K is available.
“This is the first of many enhancements we are making to Eurosport’s digital services ahead of Tokyo 2020 as we continue to develop our award-winning direct-to-consumer products for fans who want a fuller and more immersive viewing experience,” Mr Rehrig said.

Depending on location, Fire TV customers will now have access to Eurosport’s coverage which includes Grand Slam tennis, cycling’s grand tours, all FIS World Cup and World Championship winter sports competitions and non-domestic rights to German soccer’s top-flight Bundesliga.
