he Dire Wolves are set to become a multi-discipline organisation after acquiring both N8 Esports and Sydney Drop Bears.

The move will see Dire Wolves expand into FIFA, Overwatch, and NBA 2K following their success in League of Legends in the Oceanic Pro League.

The Drop Bears previously were back to back champions of the first three Overwatch Contender: Australia Seasons and N8 Esports have had a number of top ten international esports stars in EA Sports FIFA.

The acquisition sees the establishment of one of the most diverse and successful Oceanic esports organisations, coming on the heels of a complete rebrand and new management team for Dire Wolves with new owner, Jason Spiller, saying N8 Esports founder, Nate Patrick, will become a part of the Dire Wolves team.

“We have so many plans to take the organisation to the next level, beginning with our new management team, the new brand, and now our acquisition of these two fantastic ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) teams,” Spiller said.

“We have huge ambitions for Dire Wolves and moving into new games, expanding the wolf pack, and exposing new potential fans to the Dire Wolves brand is the foundation of this growth.

“This is a totally new era for the Dire Wolves as we continue to evolve into a truly modern, global esports organisation, and we need a brand that reflects that shift.

“We wanted to keep what makes us unique, and focus on the wolf pack aspect, which champions community and inclusivity in everything we do, whilst debuting a fierce, powerful logo that represents our attitude towards performance.

“The new team we’ve established is truly a force to be reckoned with, and we feel confident that we’ve sourced the best in the business to lay our new foundations, particularly with regards to performance, content, and establishing the new face of the wolf pack.

“We’re so excited to see this incredibly talented team get stuck in and usher in the new era of the Dire Wolves,” he said.
