Supercars team, Dick Johnson Racing (DJR), has announced the Ralph family as the new majority shareholders, who will take control of the organisation in January 2023.
Acquiring the majority stake has added to the family’s sports ownership portfolio, which includes shareholdings in the Melbourne Storm and Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Additionally, incoming owner, Brett Ralph, is the director of the Lightning, Melbourne United, the Australian Baseball League, and chairman of the Melbourne Aces Baseball Club.
Co-owners, Dick Johnson and Rick Story, will also continue to hold a significant share of the team, with their pair continuing their day-to-day positions, while also overseeing operations.
Commenting on the Ralph family, Story, said: “I am excited to announce today the team’s partnership with the Ralph family.”
“Brett and the Ralph family are strategic investors at DJR, with the current management structure we have in place continuing to run the business day to day as they have been.
“Brett and the Ralph family are fantastic people, and we couldn’t imagine partnering with anyone else.
“They are extremely experienced business people with a passion for sport that is undeniable.
“From the moment I first spoke with Brett he and I just clicked, and I knew we would have a fantastic working relationship,” he said.
Former Supercars driver and co-owner, Dick Johnson, added: Jillie and I are excited to welcome the Ralph family into Dick Johnson Racing.”

On DJR, Ralph, said: “On behalf of the Ralph family, we are honoured to join Dick Johnson Racing as a majority shareholder.”

The announcement comes after DJR extended their partnership with Viva Energy Australia.
