Global sports entertainment platform DAZN has announced an executive restructure, appointing long-serving Foxtel Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Delany as Group Chief Operating Officer based in London.

The leadership transition follows a landmark year for DAZN, which achieved profitability in 2025 following the strategic acquisition of the Foxtel Group and major global rights integrations.

In his expanded global role reporting to Group Chief Executive Officer Shay Segev, Delany will oversee day-to-day operations, marketing, content, sports rights, revenue expansion, and subscriber growth, while also assuming chairmanship of local country businesses, including DAZN Australia.

To maintain operations and momentum in the domestic market, Peter O’Connell has been confirmed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Foxtel Group, effective immediately. O’Connell, who has served as an Australian-based independent director of the group following its acquisition by DAZN, brings extensive corporate governance experience as the former founder and chief executive of Amaysim and chairman of Superloop and Autosports.

Concurrently, Mark Frain has been promoted from his role leading DAZN Media+ to the newly created position of Chief Executive Officer of Streaming and Advertising, where he will direct subscription expansion for Kayo Sports and Binge alongside commercial advertising growth.

Reflecting on the leadership changes, Delany expressed strong confidence in the incoming executive team.

“Peter has agreed to take on the role of CEO of the Australian business where he will support me while guiding the leadership team and providing stability and continuity as well as a renewed focus on new revenue generating opportunities.”

“Peter has wide corporate experience as a CEO, successful Founder and Chair and has been a great influence on our business since joining the Australian board last year.

“He brings a depth of experience and knowledge in advancing consumer businesses and will be a great leader and mentor for senior leaders across our business,” Delany said.

Expressing his vision for the Australian operations, O’Connell, sad: “The Foxtel Group is positioned well for future growth and is in a really strong financial position with real momentum on earnings and subs growth.”

“After being on the Board for the past year I have had a unique opportunity to get across the company’s operations and am looking forward to working closely with Patrick as chairman and Mark in his new role driving the next era of Foxtel’s growth and further building on the strong relationship with our partner sports, distributors and producers,” O’Connell said.

Complementing the Australian executive changes, DAZN has appointed Alex Gersh as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Darren Waterman, who transitions to Chief Business Officer.

DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev highlighted that the strengthened leadership team will accelerate profitable growth across more than 200 international markets.
