Sports entertainment company, DAZN Group, has launched a boxing focused NFT platform, DAZNBOXING.io, to expand on their entertainment ecosystem and engage more fans.
The first collection of NFTs will feature exciting moments from DAZN fights in 2021, including Parker v Chisora, Estrada v Chocolatito, Cameron v McGee, Haney v Diaz and Lopez v Kambosos.
The platform will also allow the public to make purchases with cryptocurrency and traditional currencies, with mystery packs of three including a variety of video clips and still images.
Commenting the platform, DAZN Group CEO, Shay Segev, said: “DAZN is sport.”
“We continue to diversify our platform, taking the fan experience to another level and becoming the world’s single digital destination for sports fans.
“NFTs are part of that story,” he said.
DAZN EVP new revenues, Ian Turnbull, added: “This gives boxing fans the ability to purchase an affordable piece of digital memorabilia from their favourite sport, and allows them to have a deeper, more interactive and enriching experience with DAZN.”
Additionally, the entertainment company announced a secondary platform, which will be launched in the future, with both being apart of their growth strategy to offer fans a range of richer and more engaging sports entertainment content to enjoy alongside live sports streaming.
The announcement comes after Anthony Joshua signed a long-term deal with DAZN, which saw him become a shareholder, advisor, and brand ambassador, along with it being the first time he has changed broadcasting partners.
