Brisbane Broncos Smash NRL Membership Record with Eyes Set on Historic 60,000 Milestone

In an extraordinary showcase of fandom and community support, the Brisbane Broncos have set a new benchmark in the NRL, crossing an unprecedented membership threshold of 50,000 members before the season’s kickoff. This achievement marks a historic first for the NRL, with the Broncos leading the charge in fan engagement and club membership.

David Donaghy, CEO of the Brisbane Broncos, revealed the club had reached this significant milestone while the team was in camp in Los Angeles, preparing for the much-anticipated Vegas clash. The current tally stands at an impressive 53,672 members, with ambitions to reach 60,000 by mid-season, riding on the current wave of momentum.

This ground-breaking achievement comes on the heels of a successful 2023 season, which saw the club’s membership reach 47,300 by October last year. The growing membership base includes local fans, international supporters, and those from interstate and regional Queensland, accounting for more than half of the Bronxnation.

Donaghy expressed immense pride in this historic moment for the club, attributing the success to the team’s collective efforts behind the scenes and fans’ unwavering support. He highlighted the significance of building a strong membership base, noting the potential to emulate the AFL’s fan culture, where club memberships frequently hit the 100k mark.

“The Broncos are not just setting records; we’re redefining what it means to be part of the NRL fan community. Our goal now is to touch the 60,000 mark, and with the current trends, we’re optimistic about reaching that milestone by Origin time, if not sooner,” said Donaghy.

This achievement not only celebrates the Broncos’ strategic efforts to enhance fan engagement but also reflects the deep connection and love fans have for the club. This is a significant moment for the NRL, showcasing the potential for fan engagement and club growth in the sport.
