David Blitzer Expands Sports Empire with Strategic Investment in Golf’s Next Generation

David Blitzer, whose extensive sports portfolio already includes ownership stakes in the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, has officially expanded his reach into the golf sector.

Through his private investment platform, Bolt Ventures, Blitzer has capitalised on the momentum of the Masters Tournament week to announce two major acquisitions aimed at the sport’s rapidly growing youth and digital demographics.

Blitzer, who is also an investor in TMRW Sports and TGL’s Jupiter Links Golf Club, stated that he believes the sport is entering a transformative period.

“I love the game of golf and think we’re entering a new era in terms of its potential reach and impact in the overall sporting landscape.”

“We have a unique opportunity to bring the game to more fans, especially youth, than ever before.”

“Technology, innovation, and an emphasis on content creation have helped attract new fans.

“There is demand for new formats, like we’ve seen in the TGL, as well as a hunger for more golf content, especially content created by some of the sport’s top personalities and influencers,” Blitzer said.

The first major move involves Bolt Ventures serving as the primary financial backer for Source Golf, a newly launched daily YouTube Golf network. The platform is anchored by professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau and features some of the digital space’s most influential creators, including Grant Horvat and The Bryan Bros (George and Wesley Bryan). In a simultaneous strategic move, Bolt Ventures has acquired the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT), which stands as the largest multi-day youth golf tour in the United States.

The acquisition of HJGT provides Blitzer with a foundational grassroots asset, while Source Golf offers a direct-to-consumer digital channel to engage the next generation of players and spectators. This integration aligns with Blitzer’s broader strategy of investing in innovative sports formats that leverage technology and influencer-led content to drive fan engagement.
