Buildcorp has been announced as Rugby Australia’s Major Partner and the Naming Rights Sponsor for the Buildcorp Australian Schools and Junior Rugby Union Championships.
This development follows a series of productive partnerships, including prior affiliations with the National Rugby Championship (NRC), Super W, and the Wallaroos.
This milestone occurs as anticipation builds for the upcoming Buildcorp Australian Schools and Junior Rugby Union Championships, hosted on the Sunshine Coast, where 49 teams will compete for national championships in both XVs and Sevens formats.
Expressing enthusiasm over this partnership, the CEO of Rugby Australia, Phil Waugh, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Buildcorp to deliver another high-quality grassroots rugby event.”
He highlighted the long-standing support from the Sukkar family and the Buildcorp team, acknowledging their crucial role in fostering rugby across all levels in Australia.
Waugh further emphasised the collaborative effort among the Australian Schools Rugby Union, Rugby Australia, Buildcorp, and the Sunshine Coast Council in establishing a unified pathway for the development and selection of both male and female players for senior national teams.
Managing director of Buildcorp, Tony Sukkar AM, added: “The Buildcorp Australian Schools and Junior Rugby Union Championships is a key step in the pathway system and is a natural extension of our rugby partnerships.”
Sukkar reflected on the positive trajectory of alumni from the NRC and Wallaroos, noting their shift to professional rugby. He expressed optimism about the potential future stars emerging from this year’s tournament, envisioning them representing Australia with pride.
As Australia gears up for the Buildcorp Australian Schools and Junior Rugby Union Championships, this partnership signifies not only a commitment to grassroots development but also a foundational step toward cultivating talent that will enrich the future of Australian rugby.
