The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed a record-breaking sell-out for their NRL and NRLW Preliminary Finals double-header at Suncorp Stadium, with tickets exhausted in one of the fastest sales in club history.
On Sunday, 28 September, the Broncos’ NRLW side will face the Newcastle Knights at 1:15pm, before the men’s team hosts the Penrith Panthers at 4:05pm. The back-to-back clashes represent a historic moment for the club, highlighting the Broncos’ ability to drive demand across both competitions.
Commenting how the rapid sell-out reflects the strength of the club’s membership and supporter base, Broncos CEO, Dave Donaghy, said: “This is a remarkable show of loyalty and belief from our members and fans.”
“Hosting two preliminary finals on the same day is a huge honour for our Club. We can’t wait to see Suncorp Stadium packed to the rafters, filled with Broncos colours,” Donaghy said.
For the NRL, the Broncos’ double-header highlights the growing commercial and cultural power of combined men’s and women’s fixtures, while underlining Suncorp’s reputation as one of the league’s premier finals venues.
Beyond ticketing, the event is extending value for partners. Premier Partner The Star Brisbane will host two official live sites, designed to capture overflow demand and create fan zones across the city. These include:
The activations provide an expanded engagement footprint beyond the stadium, creating additional touchpoints for fans, sponsors, and the wider Brisbane community.
As both the Broncos’ NRL and NRLW teams chase Grand Final appearances, the double-header has become a showcase of fan loyalty, partner activation, and the evolving finals series model – one that leverages integrated scheduling to boost visibility, atmosphere, and commercial outcomes across the game.
