he Brisbane Bandits have announced a new MLB partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brisbane Bandits director of baseball operations, David Nilsson, who also played with the Brewers in the MLB for eight years, said he was very happy with the deal between the two organisations, after he had been working on the partnership with the Brewers for a while.

“I am pleased to renew a partnership that began close to 30 years ago when the Milwaukee Brewers first sent players to the Brisbane Bandits.” Nilsson said.

“They have been fantastic working around the obstacles of COVID-19 and their players are committed to joining Brisbane,” he said.

Milwaukee Brewers vice president – minor league operations, Tom Flanagan said: “The Brewers are excited to partner with the Bandits by having our players and coach take part in the ABL this season.”

“Having former Brewers all-star David Nilsson manage Brisbane, and allowing our players to learn under his tutelage is something we are very much looking forward to,” Flanagan said.

Brisbane Bandits principal owner, Mark Ready, said the partnership works well together as the two organisations have a lot in common with one another.

“This is a natural fit on many fronts,” Ready said.

“David Nilsson’s connections run deep in Milwaukee, both cities famous for brewing beer, being built on the water and the good old Blue and Yellow.

“Brisbane and Nilsson have returned to their roots in more ways than one,” he said.
