Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy Committee Meets To Discuss Legacy Opportunities

Yesterday, the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy Committee met to discuss key legacy planning opportunities.

The committee, formed in July 2022, provides advice to the Queensland Government on statewide legacy opportunities related to hosting the Games.

The meeting focused on key Games developments and implementation planning from the Elevate 2042 strategy.

Elevate 2042, developed in consultation with all Games Delivery Partners, was released late last year. It will now be guided by multiple Implementation Plans, with the Legacy Committee set to advise the Queensland Government on priority programs, projects and initiatives as implementation planning begins.

The Legacy Committee will also support the efforts of the new Delivery Authority, which is primarily focused on delivering the venues for use during and after the Games.

The next meeting will be held in September 2024, following the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
