Bondi Sands extends Australian Open sponsorship until 2027

Bondi Sands, the renowned sun care brand, has committed to extending its sponsorship of the Australian Open tennis grand slam until 2027.

In this renewed partnership, Bondi Sands will retain its role as the official sunscreen partner of the tournament.

The negotiation for the extension was facilitated by Twenty3 Sport and Entertainment, the sponsorship agency representing Bondi Sands. Twenty3 will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the brand’s onsite initiatives and broader activation plans.

As part of the collaboration, Bondi Sands is set to introduce misting stations and sunscreen sampling throughout the Australian Open precinct this year. A dedicated activation is scheduled to take place at the grand slam oval from January 14 to 28, offering attendees an engaging and sun-safe experience.

Last year marked the initial collaboration between Bondi Sands and Tennis Australia during the tournament.

Shaun Wilson, co-founder and CEO of Bondi Sands, emphasised the significance of extending the partnership, stating, “As we have become a globally recognised brand and market leader in sun care, extending our partnership with Tennis Australia for the Australian Open has formed a major part of our strategy for the Bondi Sands sun care category.”

Additionally, liquor company Luzhou Laojiao has also recently announced a multi-year renewal of its partnership with the Australian Open.

For Australian audiences, the live television coverage of the grand slam will be presented by the Nine Network, a commercial broadcaster, under a deal running through 2025. Nine Network secured a long-term renewal with Tennis Australia last year.

Meanwhile, Australia’s public-service broadcaster, ABC, has acquired domestic audio rights for the Melbourne-based grand slam.
