Financial institution BMO has announced a partnership renewal with the Northern Super League (NSL), reinforcing its commitment to advancing women’s professional soccer across Canada.

Under the renewed agreement, BMO will retain its status as the Official Bank of the NSL while continuing as the Presenting Sponsor of NSL broadcasts across all digital and linear platforms.

The extended collaboration aims to scale the commercial reach and national visibility of Canada’s premier professional women’s football competition, building robust legacy programs and professional talent pathways.

Emphasising the importance of the alliance, chief marketing and communications officer at BMO, Catherine Roche, noted the brand’s long-term vision for sports marketing.

“At BMO, we believe in the power of sport to inspire confidence, create opportunity and bring communities together.”

“The Northern Super League is helping transform the landscape of women’s soccer in Canada by creating opportunities for athletes to compete and thrive at the highest level at home.

“We’re proud to renew our partnership and continue investing in the future of the game, while helping create pathways for the next generation of players, leaders and storytellers in sport,” Roche said.

The partnership will also drive industry development off the pitch through initiatives like the BMO Next Gen program, which provides mentoring and behind-the-scenes access for aspiring female sports media professionals.

Praising the corporate backing that has underpinned the league’s rapid establishment since its inception in 2025, president of the Northern Super League, Christina Litz, added: “BMO believed in the Northern Super League and our mission from day one, and we’re incredibly proud to see that commitment deepen as our league grows.”

“They have been more than a partner to the NSL; they have helped us build the business and share our belief in what Canadian women’s soccer can become.

“This renewed investment is a meaningful commitment to the institutions we are building here in Canada and to creating a stronger, more sustainable future for the women’s game,” Litz stated.
