Basketball Australia Partners With Sportradar

Basketball Australia and Sportradar Integrity Services have announced a new two-year partnership seeing Sportradar deliver sports integrity solutions for domestic basketball competitions.

With the new partnership, Sportradar will provide bet monitoring and reporting through its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) for over 150 domestic basketball fixtures, including the WNBL.

This partnership extends Sportradar’s work in the Australian market after signing an integrity partnership with the NBL in 2020, meaning the organisation will now work to uphold the integrity of all basketball competitions in Australia.

Basketball Australia executive general manager of governance, risk and integrity, Simon Bishop, said: “Basketball continues to generate significant betting interest globally, and this partnership further strengthens our integrity measures ahead of the new WNBL season.”

“Sportradar’s integrity services’ vast knowledge in the field of sports integrity, will support the operations of our integrity unit to identify any betting related manipulation threats to our competitions and address any emerging risk factors,” Bishop said.

Sportradar Integrity Services director of global partnerships, Andy Cunningham, said the partnership will extend Sportradar’s global work with more than 100 sports’ governing bodies and leagues.

“Having previously collaborated indirectly through our partnership with the National Basketball League, the integrity services are delighted to now sign our first direct agreement with Basketball Australia,” Cunningham said.

“We look forward to supporting their integrity programme for the next two years,” he said.
