Basketball Australia has announced the appointment of refbook as the officials’ technology partner, with the brand to provide an online solution for officials across Australian representative basketball.

The platform will be used across the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), National Wheelchair Basketball League (NWBL), Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League (WNWBL), the Australian Junior Championships and the Australian Secondary Schools Championships.

Refbook head of commercial, Jon Chapman, said the partnership signals an important milestone in the brand’s growth.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with the team ta Basketball Australia, and together have already identified a number of strategic projects that will provide value to elite and developing officials,” Chapman said.

Basketball Australia’s head of game development, Michael Haynes, said: “The officials are such a crucial part of our sport and refbook enables them to manage their commitments across a range of competition levels in the one place.”

“At the same time, refbook provides Basketball Australia with infrastructure to complete all administrative tasks in the one platform,” Haynes said.

The partnership, which is already in use across the WNBL since the launch of the 2021/22 season, will reportedly see refbook expand its technology ecosystem and platform to further provide value to the partnership and other sporting organisations and competitions.
