Basketball Australia has officially announced the appointment of highly experienced governance leader Alison Creagh AM CSC GAICD as a Director to fill an existing vacancy on the national board.
Bringing extensive professional expertise across strategic planning, risk management, cyber resilience, and stakeholder engagement, Creagh joins the sporting organisation at a critical juncture as basketball experiences sustained participation growth and prepares for major upcoming international sporting cycles.

Recognised for her extensive contributions to sport and veterans with appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia, Creagh’s robust corporate governance acumen will bolster the board’s strategic oversight as basketball expands its national footprint.
Creagh’s extensive leadership background encompasses a distinguished thirty-year career in the Australian Regular Army culminating in the rank of Brigadier, alongside prominent advisory and executive roles across government, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
Her prominent sports administration portfolio includes serving as president of Paralympics Australia, VP of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, director of Rowing Australia, and director-at-large of the Oceania Paralympic Committee.
Furthermore, she brings an existing familiarity with the organisation’s internal operations through her previous service on Basketball Australia’s High Performance Committee, ensuring seamless strategic alignment and immediate governance contribution.
