Following the announcements of Oakley and Ladbrokes resigning with the PGA of Australia, the 16th hole at RACV Royal Pines Resort will be a main attraction at the upcoming Australian PGA Championship.

The deal with Ladbrokes sees the hospitality hub of the event be renamed the Ladbrokes 16th Hole Marquee, along with the introduction of the Ladbrokes Clubhouse, a sports bar facility with exclusive use for Ladbrokes customers and an elevated view to enjoy the competition.

PGA of Australia commercial director, Michael McDonald, said the 16th hole is unlike any hole in Australian golf and is where the entire tournament comes to life.

“We are delighted to have Ladbrokes expand their partnership with the PGA of Australia and add further to the festive atmosphere of the SONIQ Million Dollar Hole,” McDonald said.

“We are always looking to deliver further reward and recognition opportunities for our partners to use with their customers, so we are thrilled to be working with Ladbrokes to deliver this at the Australian PGA Championship,” he said.

Adding to the atmosphere of the 16th hole, Oakley also renewed their naming rights partnership to the Australian PGA Championship with the Oakley Gold Coast Beach Club.

McDonald said the return of the beach club to the Australian PGA Championship further shows the impact of the 16th hole on the entire event.

“It will be great to see the Gold Coast beaches bought to life on the golf course again this year with an expanded fan zone that will be free to enter in 2019,” he said.

“Oakley has been an integral part of expanding this activation zone and we are excited to have them back on board this year.

“Fans will be able to swap their golf shoes for thongs and wear their favourite beach wear to watch the golf in comfort with a bar, food, music and the golf live on a big screen along with all the action of the 16th hole right in front of them,” McDonald said.

The first 100 guests into the Oakley Gold Coast Beach Club on hole 16 each day will be given a stubby holder to enjoy their drinks while watching the Australian PGA Championship from December 19-22.
