Australian Oztag Modernise Referee Training Through Partners with etrainu

Australian Oztag has partnered with etrainu to launch The Hub, a digital platform that enhances referee training and accreditation across Australia. This initiative aims to standardise accreditation and streamline training to meet the growing demands of the sport.

With over 150,000 players participating nationwide, Oztag recognised the need for an efficient accreditation system. The previous manual process became increasingly challenging as the referee base expanded, prompting the search for a scalable, technology-driven solution. etrainu, with its proven track record of providing innovative online learning solutions to various sporting organisations globally, emerged as the ideal partner for this transformation.

The Hub will initially offer Level 1 and 2 courses to over 3,000 referees by integrating on-field evaluations with online learning. According to Luke Manahan, General Manager at Oztag New South Wales, this collaboration demonstrates Oztag’s commitment to enhancing referee education and resources “We aim to provide our referees with the highest quality training resources and accreditation opportunities, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel on the field.”

Looking ahead, Australian Oztag plans to expand The Hub’s offerings, including coaching accreditations and further course development in collaboration with etrainu. The focus for the immediate future is to migrate existing referees to the new platform, ensuring that all referees complete their Level 1 accreditation while exploring additional learning pathways.

Referees can access The Hub at Oztag’s official website.
