Caldow was a former Diamond goal attacker captaining Australia for eight years during an international netball career that spanned 17 years, from 1962 – 1979.

“I have not made this decision lightly,” she said.

“There is no doubt I will miss my involvement with the Diamonds leading into next year’s World Cup, but it’s time for a new challenge and focus.”

“It has been an amazing journey working with and alongside Australia’s best netballers, who are outstanding young women and great ambassadors for our sport,” Caldow said.

Head coach Lisa Alexander said Caldow has had a great impact on netball in Australia for the last four and a half years.

“The ultimate professional, Margaret set the standard on attitude and commitment to all aspects of life on and off the court,” she said.

“I thank Margaret for the support she provided me personally and to the team, and wish her all the best for the next chapter of her life.”
